Hi everyone,
I just got back from 10 days on the Komodo Dancer. They run a good operation, working hard to time the variable and sometimes strong currents. When you hit it right, the reefs are beautiful and very fishy:
The highlight was the manta dive on the south side. We had a about a dozen cruising in the current as we held on for dear life. It was murky and green, but still got some good shots:
There's lots of great macro too!
And of course, there are the dragons and other top-side opportunities as well
I will say the camera facilities for DSLR folks was a little sparse. There's a long table for 6 or so, and as we only had a 2 dslr shooters, one video and a couple point and shoots, we were OK, but any more rigs than that and it would be cramped. Same with the charging station. Plus, the trash can rinse bucket, while clean, wasn't big enough for a dslr with strobes. Other than that, the crew is attentive, the food is great and wouldn't hesitate to go back!
