I am very happy with the lighting capabilities, but have had 3 floods in the last year.I am meticulous with cleanliness and Orings.
Ikelite did clean and repair the stobe and replace the batteries last year. I recently had another flood.I am coninced that the problem is not with the sealing, but rather with the battery pack itself.Perhaps to much heat is being generated by the current draw on the batteries.
Has anyone had similar problems?
Hi Garth,
I've done dozens if not 100 dives w/ my DS200's and not had that problem. Not saying yours doesn't have a problem though, just my experience. My batteries do get warm after a lot of use, but not hot.
Do you know where the water is entering?
Cheers
James

Hi James,
My theory is that one or more of the batteries in the pack burst and the gas is forced out through the cap. This can be seen as a green brown dye in the water. Then there is a sudden cooling which causes water to be sucked into the strobe. Each time I have had this problem I have thouroghly cleaned the inside of the strobe and done a dive with the battery cavity filled with tissue paper.Never any indication of a leak.
