Another commensal shrimp ID

  1. This was so transparent, I had a heck of a time photographing it, and when I finished, my guide and buddies were nowhere to be seen. :) The blue spots were what caught my attention. At first I thought it was a Periclimenes soror, but the telson looks different. Anyone know what this shrimp is? I call it a Waldo shrimp. As in where's Waldo?? Lembeh.

  2. Good job though! Do you have a side view of the rostrum?

It actually fits at the lightest end of the speckled color morph of P. soror. On the other hand Art would probably say P. soror is probably a complex of related species which have yet to be worked out. :)

  3. it is P. cf. soror and yes, I believe P. soror is a species complex

too many colour morphs, different hosts ..

  4. Here's another view; thanks for the responses.

    Cheers,

    Marli
