I saw this video posted up on Jim Abernethy's captains blog on his website and it has made my day!
In the video you can see Jim and his crew work to free a lemon shark of a rope that had cut into the shark deeply. It took them less than a minute it seems to get the shark up and the rope released.
We need more people like Jim doing good things like this! Jim is the type of guy who does good things when no one else is looking. Proud to call him a good friend.
Just got back from this trip. We were all tremendously excited to see this shark saved. He came back to the boat the next day for LOTS of fish. Many sharks in our oceans suffer from similar circumstances. This was indeed a lucky one.
WHAT A GREAT JOB! BIG KUDOS to everyone involved!

Bravo to all involved and a big THANK YOU for doing the right thing!
Well Done!!! You deserve a
Jim would do anything to care for his sharks. I would expect we will be seeing more shark rescues in the future. So good to see positive news about sharks when so few good stories are out these days!
Keep it up Jim!
Reminded of the fictional story of a storm washing star fish onto shore, as far as the eye could see. A man was throwing them back in, one at a time. Another man came along and said, "What are you doing? Its a waste of time! There must be millions of them. You cannot make a difference. Regardless of how hard you try, it will not matter."
The first man picked up another and threw it back in the ocean, turned and said,"It mattered to that one," and continued on throwing.
Great job guys!

More pups would be great, but a sex change would be required first. It was actually a "he". We peeked under the tail
