Red Sea liveaboard

  1. Hi Everybody!

Decided to post some shots from a liveaboard trip that took place a few weeks ago.

Destination Red Sea, St. Johns etc. No sharks or mantas wich I was really hoping to encounter :)

I allso had a few students on the trip, so I wasn't able to concentrate fully on photographing. Fortunately I found some opportunityes to take the camera with me and even got a few keepers from the trip :)

Hope You enjoy, and as always - constructive criticism is welcomed!

  2. Hi Karel,

The St. John's safari is one of my favourites. Your images of the yacht and the tug wrecks at Abu Galawa bring back fond memories and they are amongst my son's favourite dives... I also remember seeing that corkscrew wire coral but I can't think of which dive site.

The only place I've found large pelagaics at St. Johns is Habili Ali and you need spring tides too to ensure the stong currents which bring the big boys close! I guess you dropped in to Elphinstone on the return leg? Did you find any hammers?

    We'll be there this August.

    Thanks for sharing, Tim

Actually we didn't have the possibility to visit Elphistone this time. We saw a few reefsharks at the Habili Ali, but they were too far away to photograph. Better luck next time :good:

And I share You'r opinion about the St. John being a really good safari destination!
