  1. After beeing equipped with lots of subtronic cable, I recently ran into a new strobe problem. What do you use, if you want to do Canon TTL ? Well Canon requires 6 pin and Nikonos V Cable or bulkheads would only allow manual mode with their 5 pins. Nikon shooters are better of because they can use existing cable to connect a strobe housing, but not with Canon. For Canon most of us will have to face an additional investment, when they want TTL with 420EX or 550EX strobe housing.

Seeing this and having someone on our next trip, who wants use Sea&Sea wetlink cable on Nikonos bulks, I realized the the mess you have with all the different connectors once you are hooked onto a special system :angryfire: ...

I opened this poll to see if we have any mayority amongst the wetpixel shooters who form a critical mass in this issue. I am just curios to find out. Please forgive me that I did not take wireless slave solutions or fiberoptics into account. I think they form a slightly different field. If you know any other connector types, it would be interesting to gather a complete list in this topic.

Also I would be very glad if someone knows a cheap Sea&Sea Wetlink 2 Nikonos V adapter.

  2. What a pitty that we have only so little response in this thread.

Cable seems not to be very popular anymore, uh?

  3. Hi Andi,

    Two things come to mind.

    1. I couldn't work out what the poll was for. Is it "what are you using?" or "what would you like to use?"

    2. I have been wondering about the possibility of either adding an S6 bulkhead connector to a Sea & Sea DX30/60, in the spare bulkhead port, or using the N5 connections along with the metal shield to provide 6 connections.

I can't see a problem with that, as nothing else is "connected" to seawater to form a short. It's a completely wacky Idea, I know, but if I can't fit an S6 I might give it a try.

    Cheers
