My son's G9 Ike housing was (strangely) supplied with a zoom control fork a little shorter than on mine (3.5 mm versus 4.10 mm) which was the cause of the housing to be unable to properly control the camera's zoom. I hadn't identified this slight difference until I spoke to Jim at Ike's repair department. A new fork was promptly dispatched to me in the UK and all's well now.
