I have a Nikonos SB105 strobe where the synch cable can no longer be removed from the strobe. The strobe has started to behave erratically with my Aquatica housing for the Coolpix 5000 - it fires without the camera shutter being pressed. I would really like to be able to separate the cable from the strobe to check for any leaks - can anyone offer any suggestions?

Hi Odd, Welcome to wetpixel.
I'm going to move this post to the Lighting Forum where it will get some attention.
My advice, use WD40 or some other solvent to get your sync cord loose. I bought a strobe where someone used pliers to try to get the cord off and they broke the socket. Repair cost about $100 from Southern Nikonos. The yellow socket thingy costs about $40...
Just keep "worrying" it and see if you can get it to come off by hand. Another trick is to try it at depth - just try to hand loosen it a bit - NOT a lot.
