Canon 60mm used in Ikelite 100mm port

  1. Quick question - has anyone used the 60mm Canon macro lens with the 100mm Ikelite port. I have the 100mm macro lens and ikelite port and have the chance of getting the 60mm at a good price. However I am in the middle of the trip and only would get it if I could operate it within my current set up. Would an extension tube make a difference.

A rushed question but any advice, experience would be great.

    Cheers.

  2. Pretty sure it will work. Definitely works for the Nikon equivalent. Two small catches: 1) You can't get as close to the subject as you would like and 2) Sometimes hard to light exactly as you would like as the strobes have to light past the end of the port. It is workable though.

  3. I do this with the Nikon 60 & 105mm using the 105's port. No problems at all. I don't think you lose much distance as there are only about 2" added and it's pretty tough focus any closer than that. You get the benefits of less to pack and better bouyancy due to increased displacement.
