Sony Creative Software has announced Sony Vegas Pro 9 including 4K support, Native XDCAM EX reading and import and the ability to open and edit RED ONE™ files on the timeline. Also included are 32 and 64 bit versions, a bunch of new effects etc. etc.. There isn't a huge amount in it for the HDV user though, and there is no mention in the release notes of fixes to alleged AVCHD bugs/instability.
They have also released Production Assistant plug-in. This could be an absolute dream for the underwater videographer who is churning out dailies as it simplifies the process of producing videos according to a template. There is discussion about it on the official forum here and here.
