Inon Arms

  1. Anyone use Inon arms? Does Inon make clamps to go with them or do you use them with ULCS clamps. Found some for a good price just wanting to see if they're worth it.

  2. I have used some Inon arm products. They are very similar to the ULCS ones and you can mix and match. You can even use the Inon arm floats on ULCS arms. Yes, they offer clamps.

I see little reason to choose one manufacturer over the other; it all depends on which one offers the best part for your use or which has the best deal.

  3. I've used components from both Inon and ULCS together. It depends on what component you're after as to which is the best. From my experience the ULCS clamps are sturdier than the Inon ones while the Inon adapter for Inon strobes was better than the ULCS equivalent (the ULCS one is much shorter). As for arms it's six of one and half a dozen of the other. As Craig said they are identical in all the important dimensions, the only differences are comestic, go for the best deal.

  4. I use Inon arms and clamps and just added a ULCS tray/handle with a ball. No issues. I have had ULCS arms and clamps in the past and both companies arms seem very similar. I agree the ULCS clamps appear sturdier though I have had no issues with my Inon clamps over several years. It is interesting that at several online shops that sell Inon arms you can't find the Inon clamps?? 4th gen floats designated for ULCS arms also fit on Inon arms.

  5. I agree with Gudge and I am glad I chose the INON adapter rather than the offering from ULCS. Otherwise, both are great and its a price and functionality driven decision. HTH, Tim

  6. I also prefer the Inon adapter to the ULCS one, but also consider either the Inon or 10Bar YS-style adapter. They're lighter and less negative provided you switch your arm out for a YS version. The YS adapter style is easier to attach to a BC as well. 4th Generation also makes an Inon ball adapter and it is quite light. The new Inon mega-float arms have enormous lift and are well made.
