Equinox Pro 6 with rear monitor accessory

  1. We are new to the forum, but a search on this, and other forums, have not produced results.

We are interested in buying an Equinox Pro6 to house a Canon FS11 video camera. It appears to be the only housing that will house this camera.

Does anyone have experience with this set-up?

In order to view the camera monitor, it looks like we need an additional rear-mounted monitor to the housing case. This is because the FS11 LCD screen opens to the left of the camera body. Without the additional rear-mounted monitor, could we still see the camera LCD from the back of the Equinox Pro-6?

  2. Equinox is your only option that I am aware of, it is a good "inexpensive" brand. They don't don't give you many options (like white balance) but they do have a unit for it so that is half the battle :-)

If the monitor is able to be open it is usually only about 40% in the Pro6, I would recommend adding on the monitor but be sure to manage all the cords that come with monitor so they don't get in the way of your controls, also if you do get the monitor-after you get it head down to Radio Shack and get a couple spare batteries, that is where they get them from.

We choose not to carry the Equinox line but Mozaik underwater and B&H out of New York usually have good prices and are reputable.

    Hope this helps.
