Tokina 10-17 with Nexus D300

  1. Looking for input regarding different setups for 10-17 on Nexus housing. Other than D300 is ok - optic setup should be the same with other Nexus housings. Would like to save the $$$$ on their custom 10-17 port. Edge/corner sharpness is important. Thanks.

  2. Hi Jim. I've been using the D200 and Tokina 10-17 with Nexus 170 dome and 20 mm extension. Haven't done comprehensive corner sharpness testing, but the results please me. I had used it without the 20 mm extension, and I feel that results are generally sharper with the extension. Here's a couple shots.

For the 10-17mm lens, if u dun want the more expensive custom ZP1017-6 ver2, u can have the option of

    (a) FP160 dome + 10mm extension ring.

The dome is made of glass. Edge/corner sharpness is almost as good as the dedicated port.

D90 housing + D90 is the best bang for bucks imo. Works as well as the D300 underwater but lighter in weight and cheaper.

    Hope the info helps
