Epson P-2000 and 32gb SD cards

  1. I recently upgraded the drive of my P-2000 from the standard 40gb to an 80gb which, with about 70 gigs of free space, allows me plenty of room for a couple of weeks RAW shooting. The trouble is, my son has now started shooting RAW too and we're due for two weeks together on a safari boat, by the end of which 70 gigs will seem a little shy. I calculate that if we complete 100 dives between us we'll only have enough drive space available for 40 'keepers' each per dive.

Considering that I covert a 50D, which uses CF's, a useful way of expanding my P-2000's capacity may be to buy a couple of 32gb CFs.

    But...

I know that the P-2000's SD slot will read / write to cards up to a maximum of 2 gb. I have a workaround for my 4 gb SD's by using a SD to CF card adapter and then reading the SD's though the CF slot.

So clearly the P-2000's CF slot has greater 'capacity' but will it read 32gb CFs? Epson tech will only say that both the SD and CF slots are designed for cards up to 2 gb.

If anyone has a P-2000 and access to 32 gb CF's, would you please be kind enough to check this for me?
