CJ and I were taking a tourist day in London last Friday. The Henry VIII exhibition at the British Library is amazing and it was a gorgeous day to take a flight on the London Eye. Catching the tube to Embankment (ulterior motive #1) meant I could nip in to Cameras Underwater for a few minutes. Amazingly, I managed to get out without haemorrhaging my credit card... That was a first! But I did pick up a flyer advertising Visions in the Sea ( http://www.visionsinthesea.com/index.html ) which seems like a 'must do' event here in the UK. Its in my diary...

Can someone help out a poor uneducated colonial? One of the categories in the Visions of the Sea photo competition is called the Suunto British Open. The rules require that the image must be taken in British waters. Does anyone know if the Bahamas or the Caymans are considered British waters for purposes of the competition?
Final Day for entry is Sept 30, 2009 if anyone is planning on entering.
Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve
email Orca Divers at caroline@orcadivers.com When the competition was announced I noticed there was not any junior categories for CJ to enter. I drew this apparent mistake to Caroline's attention and straight away a Junior competion was announced. She is very responsive.
Drop her a mail and, if I can, I'll give her a call for you and will let you know.
HTH, Tim

I''l be at this and know quite a few who are going. I can't wait I'm really excited about the pool seesion and the talks. There's also a dinner at the Palace Hotel on the Saturday night which should be good fun. Easy for me to get though since for once I live in the city that an event is taking place!

Hi Steve, I've just spoken to Caroline and its bad news I'm afraid. Suunto, the major sponsors, are being very specific that entries in the British Open Category have to be images that are taken in waters adjacent to the British mainland. British dependencies are excluded.
CJ and I plan to be there. We're driving up to Manchester on Friday afternoon as I understand they'll be a few folk meeting for a drink or two... Not sure whether CJ will do the pool session as we have a fair old drive back to south Wales on Sunday afternoon. Any other Wp's going to be there? It'll be easy to spot us - 6'2" and an 11 year old clone of me...
Take care, Tim

Thanks Tim! I appreciate the extra effort.
