Does anyone has the Moisture Alarm for an Aquatica Housing? Are they easy to install? How do they work? Is it worth having one installed?
Thanks

it's easy to install if you know where it's supposed to go
i think it works (i've had no leaks) - i believe by conduction between two wire if they get wet (sensing wires are in the bottom of the housing assuming it's being held in landscape orientation)
not very expensive for a bit of added insurance
They are an easy install and well worth it, to test, just moisten the tip of your finger and touch the two probes, a reassuring beep and a flshing red LED shoud be the response, just remember to remove the battery if nstoring the unit for any lenghty period, because moisture alarm are always on duty the circuit must be active at all time.

Jean i have tryed mine for a few dive now with the battery in it and my moisture alarm is going off after some time at every dive. And it is fauls alarm. Is there a way to tune the sensetivity?
Dag
Hi Dag, that's not good, you don't want to hear that sound underwater
even if its a false alarm, e-mail me at jean@aquatica.ca and I'll make sure we fix that thing or replace it.
Thanks for the reminder to remove the battery!
I went ahead and got the moisture alarm. Got it today. I out the battery in and it goes off non stop. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Or do I have a defective unit.

Give the board and solder points a brisk brush with a toothbrush and some alcohol or electrical cleaner.
Sometimes the circuit can be completed by residue from the soldering process.
Good luck.

Thanks. It worked. Works like a charm now.

Make sure the probes are not shorting out due to contact with the case.
