Quick Trip to NAD-Lembeh

9 posts
  1. As many of you might know, NAD-Lembeh Resort had a lucky draw promotion on their website for a 5-Night stay. Well, i was lucky enough to win, and got the chance to visit Mike V., Simon, and the Lembeh Straits last week for the first time.

I had a great time diving with Mike V. and all the guides from NAD-Lembeh. What a fun bunch of guys! NAD-Lembeh is a casual, easy going kind of place, and i just felt so comfortable and right at home from the moment i arrived. The food was great, which is saying something for Indo, and the other guests most entertaining. I also got to hang out and dive with Stephen Wong and Takako Uno (stars of the current issue of WQ), who were visiting for a few days. Stephen is a nut, and both of them are super sweet! They both dive in bright yellow hoods, so you never loose them underwater, although its really hard to tell which one is which... Seems like everywhere I go diving now I always meet people from wetpixel. So nice to have this community of kindred spirits....

Anway, I am already itching to go back (although my wife is due July 29th with our first, so I might be dry for some time now...) Here are a few photos from the trip. Hope you like them and thanks for the feedback!

    Safe diving, Mike

  3. That Ribbon eel shot is outstanding!

  4. A nice couple of shots there, I am off now to see your Flickr set.

    Keep posting, Stew

Ive just had a good look and the detail on all those shots is totally amazing. The Halameda is probably the best I have seen. Great work.

  6. The Tiger Shrimp photo is stunning. Ditto on the BRE.

  7. HI Mike

Great to see you got your stuff processed so quickly, i guess your bum thumb was on the correct hand? haha

Thanks for the mention of us and was our pleasure to host you here.

Great shots, really like that bobbit! i thought the bull shark was about a 10 footer?!?

  8. Yeah, the left hand was down so i could still work a mouse... what DO you have in the water there? When I got back to Bangkok, I had to get an injection in my ass to treat a staph infection of my lymphatic system... (thanks for the cipro, by the way)

Now that you mention it, maybe he was 10 feet. At least!

PS: Can anyone help me ID the filefish in the first photo? Thanks!!
