JB posted this is in a Nikon rumours thread, but I felt it was worth plucking it our for a separate discussion:
Some of you might remember how I reported swapping a Hasselblad V outfit with two bodies etc and a complete set of lenses for a Nikon 10mm DX lens (since traded in). Well, http://www.dpreview.com/news/0907/09070301...elbladcfv39.asp It's 39mp.However the pics I take with an obsolete D200 seem just as good as those I take with a D700. As you say in your country...Go figure!
There is a genuine interest for underwater use as this unit (plus battery) should fit on all the cameras and in all the classic Hasselblad housings that have been made (although most will not allow a view of the LCD screen without a window being added).
At the moment it is going to very expensive and has at least a 1.5x crop factor (reduced from full frame of 60x60mm to 37x49mm or 37x37mm) on lenses, which will restrict wide angle. In a few years, when this generation of back has been superseded and it is available for a reasonable price it my be a fun way to breathe life into an old MF system.
I need to earn some more cash, because it works on my SWC (keen to get that Carl Zeiss Ivanoff port in the water again) and 500C and 500C/M cameras in the housing.
