Manatee Portfolios

I've come close to wrapping up a comprehensive review of my manatee images and placed ones I thought had merit and showcased different aspects of manatee life in three portfolios: Manatee Classics, Manatee The Next Generation and Manatee In The Light. Each set has about 32 photos and you can easily see a lot of the nuances of manatee life in just one of the collections.

Of course I see now that I still have many manatee images that didn't get included; either for small imperfections or ones that were too similar to what I already included. I'll sort through these sometime and post what I missed (those photos might be even better? It's so hard to choose from so many soulful, black button eyes!). But, in the meantime, for all you who have asked to see more manatee photos, here they are. I'm also working on a set called Manatee Injuries, but I'm researching that so I can say more about the specific thing (or part thereof) that caused the manatee scar. That project will take longer.

You can access the Portfolios on Flickr, Facebook or on my MobileMe site, which is better quality. Links below. Hope you gain some insight into the incredible life of the Florida manatee . Best, Carol

beautiful shot!

Spectacular series Carol! I have not seen the one you posted above before; what a perfect day that must have been.

Truly worthy of the title 'Manatee Whisperer'.

Gosh, Carol...they're awesome. Some of them took my breath away

Wowzers...........

The lighting in those is just......breath taking.

Inspirational work

Stunning images. Really great job.

Awesome shots Carol!

Thanks Everyone!! Didn't mean to delay in response to such kind congrats, but I'm trying to catch up and pack.....

It was really hard, picking from 1,892 manatee photos that ended up in my Lightroom "Manatee to Choose From" Smart Collection...... But, all the great responses makes the work worthwhile. Thanks!

One thing though...., I realized and actually meant to just put together just one *portfolio*, but in the tired stretch to the finish I divided my one manatee *portfolio* up into three parts/themes. Then, in my tiredness, I called all three *portfolios* - Oops - I guess the *portfolio police* will be after me for putting together more than one *portfolio*.... Well, at least the photos are sorted and posted. Later, I have to see which ones print the best to offer as prints.

Spectacular series Carol! I have not seen the one you posted above before; what a perfect day that must have been.

Truly worthy of the title 'Manatee Whisperer'.

Oh, Thanks Jeff! Did you find the photo that Michelle is in? She's in the distance - see if you can find it in one of the 3 sets?

Best Always, Carol
