Guadalupe for Great Whites

I will hopefully be heading to Guadalupe next month for some great white action, and on one set of dates I have the possibility of either the Solmar V or Horizon Charters. The prices are about the same, and other then the Solmar's deep cage, I don't really see a difference between the two.

Can anyone comment on either of these boats? The last post I could find was a few years old, so if anyone has been on either recently, please let me know what you thought?

I have done the great white trip on the Horizon (2004) and really enjoyed it. However if they are charging the same amount and you get a private head and a deep cage on the Solmar V, I would go with the Solmar V

The Solmar is a great boat; I did 2 trips with them last year - Socorro and Guadelupe.

Good food, great crew, very well maintained boat.

The deep cage is definitely a bonus.

I went with Loftus on the Solmar and couldn't imagine going to Guadalupe on another boat. I really like the Solmar V. That said, I have not tried any of the other boats.
