Resort hotel recommendation in Manado

  1. Hey all you savvy world travelers ... we'll be in Manado next May before going on Paradise Dancer, and two of my guests would like to come in a week early and just hang out. No diving, necessarily. But relax in a nice spa resort with terrific food, service, and ambiance. Any favorites to recommend?

    Thanks.

  2. Gardenia Country Inn

In the mountains. One can do some side tours of the countryside.

    Second choice Kimo Bajo

    Third choice Sedona.

I wouldn't want to spend a week at any of them, but I would split time. A few days in the mountains and a few days closer to Manado.

  3. Stayed at Kimo Bajo...great place...food, service, diving, accommodations all excellent. about 1/2 hour north of Manado

  4. Yes, Kimo Bajo.. just watch out for the Italian :B):

I second the first two in the above listing. I do not know the third.

  6. Kimo Bajo is an excellent upscale resort some 20 minutes from the Manado airport. Private bungalows on a hillside, excellent views of Bunaken marine park , spa, good food with a relaxed service. Since you are not diving, don't worry about the Italian. He runs the dive operation, but is really an excellent fellow who set up excellent dives for us on our visit there.
