With Ikelite housings being clear and having arranged for TTL with their own strobes, it would seem not that unreasonable to expect/hope they would provide optical connections for other strobes. The housing is large enough that perhaps a single AAA or AA powered small light source could be driven. Then they would not have to allow for the camera flash to pop-up and keep the housing shape the same.
Seems to me that would open up some market for them.
It would open my checkbook their direction. I am seriously considering getting a Nexus D90 housing so I can use fiber optics. If Ikelite offered it, I would go that way instead.
I realize they hope to drive more strobe sales with the current setup and perhaps that works for some or many. I like Inon strobes so their offering does not provide encouragement.
Does any of that make sense to anyone else?
