Hey,
This is part of a larger series of images that I'll be posting over the next month or so when I get around to editing the 2000+ pool and river shots that I have backlogged. I'm trying to put together a local exhibition of the freshwater river systems of the Atherton tablelands.
About 2 weeks ago I ventured off into the Atherton Tablelands to photograph waterfalls. The tablelands is characterized by tropical rainforest and rivers mixed with agricultural areas. I focused purely on the wet tropics. I spent 2 days shooting before heading up to Carins to catch up with wetpixel members Peter Mooney and Ryan Pedlow. Peter runs scubapix (www.scubapix.com) and I felt like a kid in a candy shop after checking out his Aquatica gear. Peter was also kind enough to help me out by getting me some cheaper accomodation. Thanks Peter!
After a few beers, I managed to convice Ryan Pedlow to come on a camping trip back to Atheron with me. Unfortunately, Ryan had some experiment problems and couldn't take his underwater rig out so he focused on topside photography. Ryan was great company for the trip!
Heres a selection of photos that didnt really fit into any other catergory. Its a bit of a mixed bag of shots but I'm posting them as there something different

This last shot was quite difficult. Part of my idea for the river system series was to show the connection between terrestrial ecology and the aquatic world. This root system was shows large and small fish taking shelter from their respective predators (in the distance)
