Hi Humberto:
I just got back from my first trip testing the camera in the S&S housing..what a beauty!! Very ergonomic, and lightweight. I was easily able to access all controls. S&S supports nearly all lenses that anyone could want to use underwater. I shot my camera with the 17-40mm lens. Any specific questions I can answer for you?
Hey Mike,
Which dome were you using with the 17-40mm? How did the corners look on the FF? When is S&S going to come out with the new strobe (YS Dual 500 ProV?) that has video lights in the same package? ![]()
Cheers,
Steve

Hi Mike, thank you for your answer
Is it possible to use 24-105 mm F4L lens with this S&S housing?
thak you again.
Steve:
I used the Fisheye Dome port. Its the same set up we used with the 5d1.
Humberto, with regards to the 24-105, its not a supported lens, nor is it one Id recommend using. What are your intended subjects? Id recommend an arsenal of the 17-40 (or 16-35), a 50mm and/or 100mm macro.

What 50 macro would you suggest?

I would suggest the Sigma 50mm macro over the Canon. The canon does not go to lifesize and the Sigma does (although very short working distance).
The 24-105 is not a good lens to use because it is longest in length at 105mm and shortest at 24mm. The Canon 24-70 is the opposite which makes it much easier to house.

Doesn´t the Sigma extend when focusing? If so, is 1:1 when the lens is fully extended (that will then be when the working distance is shortest, and can then be adapted to the port length)?

Bent
Yes, it works fine though as at 1:1 the lens is fully extended. When focusing further out the lens is shorter but doesn't vignette in the port at all.

Thanks a lot, James. That will solve some of the problems of shooting in the brownish waters I have around me. The EF 100 is simply to long, allowing to much water between the lens and the object. I will place an order tomorrow.
