I'm about to take my S&S MDX-D300 rig for its first dive tomorrow, but I wanted to test the leak sensor before that. I've tried licking my finger and putting it on the end of the sensor, but nothing happened. So... how do I test it? FWIW, I have tried using a different (new) battery and got the same result.

Testing Leak Sensor

Hi Natalie,
You could try using an eyedropper. One drop should do the trick. The hard part is getting it dry afterwards. Be gentle.

Good luck, let us know how it goes.

I just lick my finger pad and touch the contacts.
Works ok.

I'm not getting anything with either method. This sucks, as it's a brand new housing

i have the same housing. the contacts are under the rubber strip on the bottom of the housing. for me, it took a small amount of standing water to get the sensor to light up.

Good to know, thanks.
Regardless, I took my camera out for a couple of dives yesterday and it survived.

I have the same housing. When I got a small leak in Borneo, it took two days for the red light to go out, including the use of a hair dryer.
I think the humidity at the resort get the sensor damp, as there was no air conditioning there.
Hope this helps.

Tried to replace the battery?
