Horizon Charters GWS Guadalupe

Has anyone been on the Horizon Charters trip to Guadalupe to cage dive the white sharks?

I have seen the other thread comparing the HC to the Solmar V.

Wondering because the HC has spaces left this year at discounted rates.

Will go for sure next year on the Solmar but thought a trip is still a trip.

Next year is too far away for me.

be carefull, I've heard guadalupe will be closed to everyone including divers and scientist at some point. don't wait too much

I've not been on the Solmar, but the Horizon is my local dive boat. Their trips run from San Diego which should make your travel a bit easier. They use 2 cages at the surface with air supplied from the boat. San Diego Shark Diving (Doc Anes) used to use the Horizon, so crew is well trained. The boat layout is different than the Solmar. The main cabin below deck has 3 smallish double cabins on each side & double bunks in the center section. Also cabin & bunks forward. 16 divers I believe. Great food. Very camera friendly. Operation should be similar on both boats, except I've heard Solmar also has a deep cage. I've done GW trips on Horizon a few years ago but not the past 2 yrs because of other interests (like tiger sharks). Its a super trip.

sounds like it would be.

no deep cage but still, up to 4 hours in the cage each day in great viz.

Gansbaai offered an hour in cold water and no viz the day I went.
