I've been looking at the specs and the manual of the Inon D180, and have come to the conclusion that it really is a very flexible beast. Not only will it do full manual like a YS90-DX or a DS-50/DS-125, but also Auto like a YS90-Auto and of course preflash TTL for use with consumer digicam. The guide number is 18(m) in air, which is not huge, but certainly in the running.
Now all I want to know is where to get it in the UK. Ocean Optics have the Z220 and I've mailed them about the D180, but I wondered if anyone knew of any other dealers in the UK or Europe.
Cheers
Martyn

From reading the manual I understand that it only has 4 step manual and doesn't work as a pre-flash TTL strobe (like the DS50/DS125 combined with a TTL slave sensor), only as an 'External Auto' strobe (like the YS90 Auto).
Perhaps Herb can clarify/confirm...
Doh! worse than that ReyeR, it's optical sync only. No way to connect it to the DX30/60
Oh well, back to the drawing board.
It's a shame there's no strobe with both Auto for close up work and Manual for wide angle. That combination would suit my approach wonderfully.
Oh well, maybe I'll just wait for the Jonah housing for the 550EX, and fit an S6 connector to my housing.
