Hi,
Following S&S 5d housing(modified to take 5dmk2) showing a mod
with Patima design 6 pin canon connector to use with new Patima 580EX2
strobe housing. After this mod, double(or single) 580EX2 provide correct
e-TTL without ttl adapter. It is not S6 connector nor S&S connector but,
I think it is a good idea to have a groove in socket so that dripping water
can stay in it instead of going down to the pin. it is also, fully water tight
connector & if water leaks, it stop within connector.
What advantage you get by this mod?
I think (and tested) regular shore strobes now provide enough lighting
with ISO200. It has VERY fast recycle time. You can also do, high speed
sync with camera which means your flash speed is not limited at 1/200
or 1/250.
I guess you can get these parts and strobe housing from Patima dealers
& Reef photo is the dealer in US.
