Nikon P6000 in Ikelite housing

4 posts
  1. I am thinking about buying the following set:

Nikon P6000 in Ikelite housing, Ikelite DS-51 strobe and Inon UWL-100 WA wet lens - as the result I hope to get real TTL strobe and RAW support.

    Am I correct?

    Has anybody used such configuration?

Have I missed anything really terrible about this configuration?

Any suggestions and comments are welcome - I still have about 1 month to make my final decision. I would prefer to use Canon G10 - but reading this forum I understand that it has serious problems on WA end and Nikon P6000 seems does not have such troubles... unless I lost something.

I'm sure the Nikon is just fine ... but you can get great results from a G10 as well. I'm not sure there are any problems you need to worry about with the G10 ...

There isn't currently anything wider than the dome port that restores a true 28mm equivalent FOV for the G10 Ikelite housing, but the Fisheye Fix has a 15mm rectilinear port and a 165 degree fisheye port.

If I was gonna buy a point and shoot rig tomorrow it would be the G10, Fisheye Fix housing and the 165 degree fisheye port.

Does that mean that to switch to macro I will have to change the port? If yes - doesn't that bring the cost and hassle close to DSLR housing levels - like S&S RDX-450D?

RDX-450D looks really tempting but my problem is that right now I have Canon 20D so apart of buying the housing I will need to buy a new body which unfortunately is outside of my budget.

The wide angle ports for the FIX are not wet adapters but alternate ports with adapters built-in.
