I'm trying to design the configuration of strobes arms for my future gear: a Nexus E3 Housing, two Inon Z240 flash, with a 220mm glass dome or a flatport Inon MRS.
My actual idea is this:
x2 Inon Arm Float ML 260mm (-210g x2 = -420g)
x2 Inon Arm M (NO float) 200mm
I looking for a negative or nearly neutral but not positive weight in water.
Do you think it will be too much buoyant?
Thanks
The Nexus is one of the more compact & lighter weight housings. My reference is a Nexus D300, 2 S&S 110 or 27 strobes, & flat or FP170 port. Any configuration I normally use is a little negative. It varies slightly depending on lens/port, but not enough to make a difference in handling. With the 220 dome yours will want to float dome up more than mine but it might still be ok. Suggest you just try your WA & macro configurations when you have all the basic parts, then determine if you really need extra buoyancy. I upgraded from a D70 but still use all the same older stuff except of course the basic housing. Even thou the 300 is a bit heavier, the housing is very close to same size as 70. I don't really notice a difference in the water. The biggest buoyancy difference I've seen is using the Tokina 10-17 with 170 dome. That lens is light weight compared to my usual 12-24 with that port. But no worries.

I`m thinking in the Inon arms because if finally I need more float I can put a pair of Inon Floats in the aluminum arms.
