  1. A while back, Alex Mustard started a nice thread on the addition shared by many here. Today was a big step in adding to my addition. It was the first pool test of my new housing, the D90 Nexus.

A local dive shop pool is open on Sunday aftn for store patrons at no charge.

I spent about one hour working on perfecting the lighting, f-stop, shutter speed and angle for photo's of the pool drain with 'close-up wide angle'.

Another hour working on wide angle with other newer divers practicing skills in the pool.

Another hour with the 105 micro taking photo's of the watches the other divers were wearing and some more time on the pool drain.

I have nearly 100 photo's of the pool drain. ..ahhh..Dave...ITS A FREAKIN' POOL DRAIN! GET A LIFE!

I plan to spend another Sunday aftn there next weekend. Thinking I might do a search for toy metal scuba divers or fish to place on the pool drain.

If I lived near an ocean, it would be totally ridiculous.

  2. I'm jealous! I've spent many years searching for this very same sea creature, the illusive pool drain, and yet I do not possess a single photo of one! Would you please share some of yours?!

  3. :)

You should add Your best one out of the buch to some competition as well :)

  4. I can just see it - the next theme for POTW is... pool drains!

  5. Then when you start experimenting with wide rectilinear lenses, you can add tile-images to your collection of pool drain-pictures.

    cheers

  6. I got some good shots on the welding on the ladder railing at the local pool, as well as the drain. I was testing focus accuracy after factory calibration.
