  1. Hello .. I would like to make a question .. I have a nikon dx50 camera and a NX Fisheye Dome Port

    # 56,401 ... can I use them with the tokina 10 to 17 mm lens? ... are compatibles??

    thanks

  2. hi,

I use the fisheye dome port with tokina 10-17 on a MDx-40d ( with eos 50d) sea&sea housing, it work very well. ( I ve use it with eos 400d for a long time and it work well to).

I must use the sx extension ring for best performance.

You can test it without the sx ring and if the results is not very good, add this ring to your configuration.

    Bye and good dive :)

Does the DX50 have a built-in focussing drive for lenses? It may not focus.

    I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

Slightly different question about the 10-17: I have one strobe (Inon z240), how well is this going to work with the 10-17? I imagine at 10mm I'll get plenty of vignetting, but how about at 17mm?

    Cheers,

Trusting my dim recall abilities, the Z240 with difuser covers about 100 to 105 deg. The 10-17 at 17 mm FoV is 100 deg. BUT, there are several stops of loss across that 100 deg. The short answer is yes.

  6. I think it really depends on what you are shooting, how far away from the subject and how you position the strobe ....

  7. You may not get illumination across your image, but that is not vignetting.

Vignetting will be determined by your dome and if you have the correct ext. ring.

Thanks for your tips everyone, I'm going to go with the one strobe and 10-17 for the moment (don't really have a choice! $$$....)
