Inon slave sensors

  1. I thought i would consult the wetpixel Oracle :( as my Japanese is about as good as my Aussie.

Does anybody know if the Inon Z240 type 4 (i think it is now) uses the same ultra sensitive slave sensor as the relativeley new Inon s2000.

  2. Trouble with the inon 240 slave sensors is that they make the aiming light come on.

  3. Yes, according to Seaoptics here in Australia:

    # NEW: Can be used without fibre optic cable due to technical advancement in the flash sensor technology with most 40m compact digital housings. Inon has informed us that the TTL flash sensor in the new Z240 'type 4' is 100X more sensitive than their previous strobes. The Inon wireless connection kit is optional with the Z240. So you have a choice between cable and no cable shooting, as the strobe can still of course accept their fibre optic cables.
  4. But i was talking to Carey and he thinks the s2000 which i don't think has a focus light is supper sensitive.

I've got 20m of fibre optic cable coming tomorrow night to do some other tests

  5. You beat me to it Gudge.

I'll miss you i'm afraid when your down here in a week or so. Bring that s2000 with you and get Mick in te river to test it

The S2000 doesn't have a focus light. From what I've read the sensor in the S2000 and the Z240 type 4 is the same.

Before I go to Sulawesi in four weeks time? I don't think so! :( You're welcome to borrow it on my way back through Perth when I come back in mid-November. Mick won't be able to test it either when I'm down the week after next, I fly in Sunday night and back out on Tuesday morning and I'm not letting it out of my sight that close to my trip.
