  1. One of my monthly photography charters went to Farnsworth banks last month, a couple other wetpixel members also joined me.

If you haven't been there, Farnsworth bank's is one of southern california's best dives sites. It's an offshore pinnacle on the backside of Catalina Island, coming up as shallow as 55ft, and full of beautiful purple hydrocoral.

I thought I'd share a couple photos taken with my D300 + 10-17mm fisheye, enjoy. C&C is always welcome.

  2. Nice - I love the colors in the first one, Scott. Thanks for sharing...

  3. Very nice. Thanks for sharing. I suspect you were quite close to the Cabezon and the Scorpionfish using the 10-17.

I really like the Cabezon colors and the feel of the purple in the first photo.

    thanks alot Dave.

Yeah, I was a couple inches from the Scorpionfish and almost touching the Cabezon. It's actually not common for a Cabezon to have such nice colors, I was lucky to see him and have him "cooperate", sometimes they swim off as soon as you look at them.

  6. Brings back great memories, but also frustrations: it's almost impossible to get accomodation or to sort diving in Catalina from the UK (I tried, and ended up in the Caymans, instead, this year)...

    ... really nice images.

    :P

  7. Hi Scott,

Really like the way you lit the hydrocorals-the colours are great.
