Chuuk (Truk) Lagoon

I spent the 1st week of this month at Chuuk(Truk Lagoon). Got a week on the Thorfinn as the prize for 1st place in macro at the California Beach Dive Photo Comp earlier this year. Had a great time, even though it was rainly and cloudy much of the time.

Herb, I've got to say, I am constantly amazed by the images you can "see", especially in this case having been to Truk and knowing that it's sometimes a challenging environment. The shot of the hold on the Rio (24 of 48) is especially tough because that brown silt kicks up in huge clouds if you move too quick or get too close.

These are great shots in a very challenging environment. You also have really good control of your lighting and some very dramatic effects.
