  1. Dear all,

I've been a regular reader of Wetpixel for a few years but never dared writing as I didn't see what I could possibly add to all these interesting posts and great shots; english, in addition, obviously not being my mother tongue...

I've learned a lot from all posts and photos and can only modestly thank you all for shared passion and experiences.

Indeed, this is my first post on Wetpixel as I thought you might be interested in the underwater photography presented on my website, which reopened a few weeks ago after a long, long facelift:

    www.subaquaphotos.com

This is my small contribution to underwater photography that I wanted to share here with other keen photographers. While I'm certainly fully open to criticism and always willing to try improving, I hope you'll feel for giving it a good reception...

    Alex

  2. Lovely images. Real nice website interface.

  3. Killer pics and website Alex...your English is fine and your taste in "assistants" is even better! :)

  4. Great website. I really enjoyed the different angles you used in your shots. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Thank's Canuck, sealifeprints and puffin for leaving a message, and such a kind one !

I'm glad you had a nice time on the site.

Sealifeprints, as for the "assistant"..., I am instructed by her to tender our sincere thanks for your kind and impish comment... :)

  6. Really nice and different shots!

P.S.Where is the airplane from your picture?

  7. Beautiful images; you are too modest.

  8. Thank's to both of you, Extreme and loftus for your rewarding comments !

Loftus, I'm also being realist as I know what other photographers are able to achieve (Alex Mustard, Laurent Ballesta, Mirko Zanni, Tom Peschak and many others who won't hold against me my not naming them) !...

Extreme, I'm happy you ask about the B17 Bomber airplane as I have fond memories of the dives on that particular wreck. The story of that B17 and its crew, especially the main pilot, is a very spectacular and moving one which you can read on my site if you click on 'info' on the bottom of the screen. You'll see I have added informations about each an every photo, although the information is often the same for the same subject and will need to be completed for several shots as it is sometimes probably too minimalist.

You can find the full story by directly accessing the picture link here (language selection first then automatic deeplinking to the photo):

    http://www.subaquaphotos.com/LI/20071004-103

Then click 'Info' and you'll read that the airplane is in the clear waters of the Mediterranean sea, in Calvi - Corsica (France). There is also a map with the date of shot indicated.

By the way, just in case you didn't had enough time to surf the Site in details, when you enter Subaquaphotos with the normal URL, you directly get access to the 34 latest images uploaded. But you can see the whole 260 photos presently available online by clicking 'explore' and selecting the category you like. For example, you'll see a few other shots of that particulare B17 airplane in the category wrecks/airplanes...

    Cheers !

    Alex

  9. Hi Alex,

Your pictures are great-I particuarly like some of the macro fish potraits-you've nailed them!

The site layout works well-a small point, but rather than label the button "explore", why not call it "more images" or maybe just "more". I didn't realise you had more images on the site until I read your post above.

The B17 shot is amazing as well!

  10. Hi Adam !

You're right, it was not clear with that "explore" button.

I've changed it and you can now read "search", which I believe is very direct and - I hope - should do the job. What do you think ?

I've been lucky with the B17 shot, good light and magic filter :) ...

  11. Great site Alex and lovely content!!

  12. A lot of great pictures on your site. I really like the lighting on many of your close focus wa shots.

    Regards Bent C

  13. Hi Alex,

Yes search is better-how about "more images" or just "more"!
