Nikon View 1.5 + MAC OS 10.6 bugs

2 posts
  1. I updated to Nikon View NX 1.5 on my Mac OS 10.6.1 and now all the menus are messed up. Every single function has the word IDS_... before it. It seems to be a common problem.

I have not tested but here a solution proposed on flickr:

    "it can be fixed

here is how i did it

    installed ViewNX v1.5

dragged ViexNX v1.4 from my downloads folder on to the desktop

    downloaded application Pacifist

for those that are not familiar with this application, it allows you to inspect inside the .dmg files and install single parts from the .dmg package.

open pacifist and load the ViewNX v1.4 .dmg

    locate the folder named SubPackages

then click on Contents of ViewNX_EN.pkg

    then click on Frameworks

    2 files

    Nkpluto.framework

    Zelkova6.framework

then right click on or (ctrl click )Localizable.strings and select( install to default location)

    then do Folder OutputPlugins

    6 files

    Nkb_Export.framework

    Nkb_GeoTag.framework

    Nkb_Mail.framework

    Nkb_Print.framework

    Nkb_Slideshow.framework

    Nkb_Uploader.framework

as above right click or (ctrl click) Localizable.strings and install to default location

    then select folder Resources

    then select folder English.lproj

    4 files

    Common .strings

    ErrorMessage.strings

    infoPlist.strings

    Localizable.strings

as above right click or (ctrl click) Localizable.strings and install to default location

few thats it, seems alot of work but it only takes a few minutes

its actually taken me longer to write this, than it took me to do it

works for me, hope it helps you "

    Best regards,

  2. Nikon should have this scripted and placed on their support site. Just what I needed. Thank you.
