  1. Well you've certainly got a good collection of shots there, great colour sharpness & clarity . One minor point is that the cropping looks a bit harsh on a few of them ?. Can you enlighten us a little more on the shots?

    That sunrise is absolutely magnificent!

    Cheers,

    Bob

  2. thanks for the comment re the shots

as far as i can recal the brittle star was the only one that was croped it did have some enhancement in way of contrast

i was pleased with the sunrise shots it all seemed to come together that morning.

the shrimp was actually taken in my fish tank . it is a native shrimp that lives in our local waterways . i used the overhead fluro lighting of the tank & no flash for that one + manual focus , very small subject .

the blekes blue devil fish was in a dark overhang , using cameras own flash i lightend it a bit

the siloutee was taken at "ulladula "south coast nsw australia with natural light only .

i do tend to get in close to subjects , i throw a lot of shots away that are out of focus because im too close in

    i use a sea&sea dx 3000 ( housed ricoh capilo rr30) 3.24 mpix

i has good macro ability and i find the shutter delay ok .2sec

i have just purchaced a dop dawg video light so ill see if that helps to improve some of my lighting

im only learning , just started taking uwater shots a few months ago , its also my first digital camera.

    comments apreciated

  3. You did very very well, as did the camera :) The Nudi's are especially fine captures.

Maybe, if viz & lighting allows just pull back a touch from some of the subjects on the next mission.

    Cheers,

    Bob

  4. mmm ill do that. thanks

i rember someone saying have as little water between u and the subject but ii go a bit overboard sometimes .

i feel i need work on my composition to get more constant shots also .

i love the small ...really small stuff & i

    love the digital thing .

  10. can any one identify the small sand colored crab ??????

I think it's an anemone crab (Neopetrolisthes ohshimai).

  11. mmmm.

your the first one to suggest anything , so thats good .

only thing i diddent see any anemones , he seemed to come out of a small hole in the ground .

must admit i could have been mistaken as it all happend pretty fast and he was so small.

    thanks

    :)

    any other thoughts anyone?

  12. This is from "Indo-Pacific Coral Reef Field Guide," p. 152. Neither of the crabs is an exact match with yours, but they're the closest that I saw.
