  1. This is my first time posting the picture here. Any C&C welcomed.

  2. All shot made using 5D MII. Lenses used are 15mm, 17-40mm and 100mm + wet diopter. Twin Seacam Seaflash 150 without diffuser (it was not shipped together - bummer). Anyway here a few more. Really hope to hear some C&C so that I can improve.

  3. May be in the next edition I will hear some C&C ;-)

  4. Love the bumphead parrot image!!!

  5. AMW,

Thanks. There were 4 or 5 of them together at relatively shallow water. It was taken at Liberty wreck with so-so visibility.

  6. your macro images are pretty spot on, the coral whip shrimp and soft coral crab are very well lit.

However, your WA images i find the lighting to be a little distracting. Are you using one strobe or two? In the first shot with the sunburst and crinoid your stobe has missed the bottom half of the crinoid which gives a dramatic colour drop off, also the last one with the soft coral and anthias, seems to be lit too much from the bottom right. The parrot fish is quite well lit.

Are you using a diffuser with your WA shots if only using one strobe?

how are you aiming the strobe when shooting WA?

  7. Nice work, I love the macro images.

  8. I love the moray shot!!

    Well done!

  9. Nice work, my favorite is the moray too. I was just in Tulamben a month ago, so I am pretty sure we photographed some of the same subjects

  10. The moray is my favorite. I was in Tulamben earlier this year, thanks for bringing back some nice memories.

I like the soft coral crab but it seems slightly soft to me. The xeno crab looks sharp and well lit, but a different composition (instead of from the back) could have turned it from a good shot to a great shot.

I like the choice of the Crinoid as a subject, maybe it could have used a little less ambient light in the shot (faster shutter speed if possible)

nice job and thanks for posting,

    Scott

  11. Scott - my 5D MII only allowed 1/200th sync speed. I can get away with higher SS if i removed a few pins off the hotshoe. I am not sure if there is other way around this. Is there any?

Rocha - yeah, i think that moray if pretty famous. She/he housed in a rock that was used an anchor. (if i recall correctly). Thank you

    Scubamoose/Mark - Thanks.

Mike - Thanks. I was using dual strobes but unfortunately without diffuser. There was some mixup during the ordering and I only get the diffuser after the trip was over. I agree that I need to work on my strobe positioning a lot more. May be I should take your courses . I was at Kasawari few months back with Tony Wu and good people from Scubacam.
