Vivitar 8400 unstable video

2 posts
  1. Recently I bought an underwater point and shoot 8 MB Vivitar 8400 camera, good to 30 ft, to share my UW experiences with friends and family. I have also purchased a 4GB SDHC memory to go with the camera. I am truly disappointed with the videos I took, both in and out of the water. The image is fuzzy/unstable even at relatively slow camera movement - Image is like driving 100 miles an hour and taking video through the side window - not sure what the problem is, it could be the SD card, or just the cheapo camera. Your feedback is appreciated. I would hate to go and buy another SD card to find out I still have the same problem.

Probably I should have bought a 'real camera' to start with, however I'm not sure if UW photorgaphy is 'my thing'

    About the camera and settings:

    Image Resolution - selectable from 8M to 0.3M - set for 5MB

Video setting VGA 640x480 at 30fps

    Lens f=7.4mm, F=2.8

    Shutter Speed Electronic shutter:1/20 ~ 1/6000 sec

    Thank You!

    Dan

  2. Do you have a sample of the results? Would help tremendously. Otherwise I'd say it's using very slow shutter speed.
