  1. These are old photos I took at Lembeh earlier this year. I was trying diff strobe positions to get heavy shadow. I was using 1DsMIII and twin YS250. Please let me know what you think.

  2. I think the lighting is really great - specially on the third shot.

But the last two shots seem to be a bit soft IMHO..?!

Or maybe I should drink my coffee, before commenting any pictures.. :)

Thxs. I think you correct. The last two photos a bit soft. May be I should post process it. Those are straight from LR2 with cropping, minor backscatter removal and exposure adjustment.

  4. Also love the lighting on these especially the third one!

Care to tell more on how you placed the strobes to achieve this?

I agree with Karl that the last two are looking bit soft. Or maybe better, the sharpest area is not where one would like it most, I know that feeling very well:)

  5. Love the third one ... soft is fine with me as it adds to the effect

  6. Thxs for the comment.

Aqua-soul - I achieved this by blocking the output from strobe using my hand and hand holding one of the strobe pointing upward. Hard to explain and hard to replicate.
