Sticky white balance button on L&M Bluefin

3 posts
  1. I have a Light & Motion 2008 sliver bluefin housing and I'm having a small issue with the menu control button on the left side of the housing. The one that swivels round in a half circle. When pressed in, it jams in stuck and I have to wiggle it to get it to pop back out. This is making underwater white balancing a real task.

Has anyone ever taken one of these things apart, or know how to fix this??

I'm not anywhere near a L&M service centre & wont be for some time.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi James

Probably salt or calcium built up around the o-ring. This might work. From the inside push the control in and then apply a daub of silicone grease. Then push in and out and swivel the control a few times. Wipe excess silicone grease off. If his works then the excess grease would have flushed out some salt and stuff. Just wipe it off. This control lever is plastic and is permanently fixed to the shaft and only way of taking it off will be breaking it. Unless you have a spare control I would not try that.

    Hope this helps
