  1. Working my way diligently through my backlog of images; pool shoots to sperm whales, and more pool shoots this weekend. One would think this is my full time job.

Here are a few from a pool shoot a couple of weeks ago; doing more fashion work for a while.

  2. Looking good Jeff. I'm so jealous that you still have warm water!

I like the model and the poses - she looks skilled. Her expression is so serious though! :-)

    Cheers

    James

  3. Thanks James. This was he first time in the pool, and yes she frowned a lot, with relatively few keepers.

  4. Really nice shots, and I agree with James on the model, she looks real nice but expressions could be more relaxed.

  5. I agree with the above.

But I'd still like her phone number. :)

Great Work, I love the lighting.

Sounds like we had some of the same problems this week, I had another photo shoot this past Monday and she had a lot of scrunched faces and had a hard time controlling her body and poses underwear, I think I've got a few keepers too.

I have not posted the new images yet, as I'm still processing images from last weeks shoot, and I need to get one processed be fore I start on the next, but I'm already working on scheduling the next shoot before it starts getting too cold to keep the heat on.

I also wanted to give you a heads up that I shoot some stuff very similar to what you shot with the model behind the sheer material and I did not want you to think I was copying you. (I have to meta data to prove it……lol)

    Again Great stuff

  7. Yeah Mark; this model had no problem with body control just had difficulty relaxing her face, she's a dancer, and I think she has great lines, feet and hands. So I will use her again - just have to practice a little.

Anyway, not to worry about copying - we are all copying - there is very little that people like Schatz or Holloway have not done. I think it takes years, first to get one's technique and quality to the level of people like Schatz, and then to keep experimenting and develop our own style that stands out. Anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves in my opinion. We are all just shooting within the confines of a 'studio' underwater.

I've been shooting through chiffons for a while, I love the effect. In fact I think I posted some on WP here a couple of years ago.

Much of what I do with chiffons involves nudity that I don't post on WP for obvious reasons. I think for the most part chiffons don't work very well with clothes unless they completely obscure the clothing or involve things like portraits similar to the one I posted.

  8. Hhmmmnnn....

.... looking at this as an outsider, is there any mileage in using the firm (or even fierce) expression of your model with angular poses and clashing colours to achieve something a bit different?

I feel that the third image is moving in that direction.

Good point Tim; showing some 'attitude'.

Something like this......here's one of my early green screen attempts from a martial arts project I'm working on. :)

I may have worded that wrong, I was not talking about your model, with body control issues, I meant that the model that I worked with had body control issues with a lot of frowns and scrunched faces and I too had relatively few keepers. Keep up the good work. We should get together some time since we are so close, I just east of Tampa, in Brandon.

  11. i like the sword one! very cool!

However, not a big fan of these series of shots of this particular model, i think its the skin tone, she just seems too pale to me in the first 4 shots. The last shot is much better as the skin tone seems warmer.
