Key Largo

  1. I managed to sneak away from family for a day and head to Key Largo for just two dives before heading back to Naples. It was the first time I could really give my new Subal C40 housing a workout. It was also the first time I really tried shooting with a 60mm. I usually shoot cold water wrecks so this was new to me. These are the JPEGS with little done to them as I'm using a borrowed computer without real editing software. Here are a few. Please excuse the fact that they may not be processed correctly. My computer with PS and Lightroom are at home.

I have to say, I'm in love with the new housing. It's a dream to work with and I can't wait to get more dives on it. The fish close up shots were with the Canon 60mm and the wide angle with the Tokina 10-17. Dual Ike DS-125's on all shots. I think I'm starting to like warm water, shallow diving. It was fun shooting with the 60mm on an 86 minute dive in 80 degree water. What a change!

Flamingo Tongue Pair - I couldn't get the angle I wanted on this shot but I liked seeing two of them.

  2. Cool Andy. I'm always impressed by how sharp the Canon 60mm is. Really like the first Trumpet and the Duane shot. You should sneak away more often I think. Congrats on the new rig.

    Cheers,

  3. I share your enthusiasm for the housing and the lens. Nice captures.

  4. Thanks guys. I can't wait to get out and put some more time on it. I'm back in Michigan now so we'll see if I like it as much with dry gloves on. I think I'll like it even more.

  5. very nice and sharp and clear Andy

  6. Nice shots, I have to come back to the keys, last time I was there the visibility was really bad...

We had great viz but a pretty good current on the Duane. I didn't stray far from the wheelhouse this year for fear of getting blown off the wreck.
