  1. What can anyone tell me about diving the Maldives? Never been there. Flights, type of marine life, the whole gamut of info.

  2. Hi Steve, don't know about flights from the US but have a look at some of the pics on my site from my compact shots, not that good, for better ones have a look on www.rinieluykx.nl a lot better ;) a good range of creatures and coral, depending on where you pick you should be able to guarantee yourself mantas too. I've seen them 3 out of 4 times i've been there. I'm going again in August and looking for a buddy so I don't have to follow the leader, let me know if you're interested.

    Cheers

  3. Hey Woody,

Most places tend to be seasonal and I have just started my research on the Maldives. From your experiences and in speaking with others when you were there, when is considered the best time to go and why? Mantas are in what season? What other marine life can be expected?

  4. Hi Steve, unfortunately my research is not that in depth, we only do our big trips at Christmas time ULTRA DEAD MOST fortunately stumbled upon them at these times, we have done North Male, North Ari twice, and Meeduparuu (best google that for correct location/spelling!) Meedupaarru was definitely not the place to go at the end of the a year for Mantas, middle Ari is a must....if you want to go August time Reethi Beach is a must...come and join me i need a buddy!!!!! you also see black tips in the shallows and white tips in the deeps and sleeping nurse shark groups at Male...its a magical place tho despite the crap all inclusive rules.. still waiting for someone to tell me (especially the non diving wife) where else in the world gives the same type of holiday experience
