Portuguese Man of War

  1. Walking a nearby beach after heavy autumn gales at the weekend was interesting. Amongst the usual material washed up was one rather unusual stranding - a small Portuguese Man of War. This seems to be a very late record for northern Europe and I wonder if anyone else has seen any in cold places this late in the year?
