  1. Could some please advise (help) me.

I have a Olympus C5050 in an Ikelite housing. I am thourghly impressed with the camera and housing. However, I was wanting to know if you can use the Nikonos SB105 strobes with this setup. The reason I ask this is that I have a SB 105 and have connected it to my hosuing and camera and can get the flash to fire. I have tested whether the sync cord was ok (and it was), I also made sure the setup was right. I can get the internal flash to fire (even when I have selected the external flash only) but not the strobe.

    Please help.

I would really appreciate some advice

  2. I don't have the camera, so can't test this myself.

But with that said, do you have your camera's little flash set to "Slave" mode or normal? Is the SB105 set to full, or another manual power setting and NOT ttl?

Hopefully Ike can chime in and help out.

    Cheers

    James

  3. Well I have found out what the problem is. POLARITY. It seems that I need to change the polarity in the hotshoe connecter of the housing, which then allows my SB105 to work.

    :D:D:):)

  4. Yes, you have to reconfigure the HS connections to suit Oly orientation from that of Nikon.

  5. just checking. to reconfigure the hotshoe, do I switch the wires inside the ikelite connector. Also, what is the trigger voltage of the SB105's as I have heard that this can be a problem if it is above 6v with Olympus cameras.

    Cheers dabdo
