AVCHD and Final Cut Pro 7

  1. I'm about to get a Canon hfs-11 but would really like to know if anyone has experience using Final Cut Pro 7 transferring in the avchd footage with Prores? Any problems??

  2. Pete,

Ive been using FCP 6 with no problems...havent heard of it being any different with FCP 7...but I bet Drew or Steve might have some more input on it.

  3. 2 ways to do it. Use FCP 7's own batch processor or MPEG Streamclip. With FCP7's log and transfer, you don't get a preview thumbnail but you get to choose various levels of Pro Res codec (LT,HQ etc), but you do get to log your batch captures. No difference in speed either as neither are 64bit or more than dual processor aware.

  4. They look as if the S10 and S11 have the same body. Does anyone know if either cam can be used in the same housing whether it is a L & M or Gates? Drew is correct in that ingestion should not be problematic and FC7 allows you to rename either the clip name or the file name in the scratch discs.
