The manual output knob on Sea & Sea YS90DX strobes are hard to turn with gloves on. I've done the zip-tie on the manual output control of my 90dx's for a while and am looking for other ideas. Anyone do something else to make them easier to turn with gloves on?

YS90DX Manual Knob Ideas?

Zip-tie? Can you explain that or post a picture of it? I'm going to Norway in a few weeks (around 5 centigrades) so I need some advice!

My camera is in for service but it should be back next week and I'll post a picture then. In the meantime I'll try to explain it.
If you take a medium zip tie/cable tie and secure it to the manual output knob on the 90dx hte you can use the head of the tie to turn the knob instead of trying to grip it. The only problem is that when you do this you will be limited by the battery door knob from doing a full rotation from full to -7. This is not a problem for me as I do not use the -7 setting. When I put on the zip tie I turned the knob to Full and then put the tie on so the head of the tie is touching the battery door when in the Full position. Now when I turn the knob to reduce power it will be stopped by the battery door at -6. I'll post some pics at the end of next week.
With all this said, I hope to have a better solution (some sort of knob extender) sometime soon.

I tried the zip ties but I found they would fall off or, turn the strobe setting on occasion.
I ended up being able to manipulate the knobs with my crygloves without too much frustration. Maybe attaching on of those plactic wire couplers/joiners that look like the knob to the end of it would help.

Take a picture of your knob and post it

If it's the same as a YS90 Duo then there more practical ways to go about it.

My camera is in for service so I can't take a pic till next week. The Duo and the DX use the same casing I'm pretty sure so it probably is the same knob as the Duo's. The DX has a total of three switches. One for on/off (TTL, Manual, Preflash), one for slave (on/off) and one for manual power settings (Full through -7). The one I'm trying to get a fix for is the manual power knob. Is that the same style as the Duo? If it is what is your suggestion?

I had the same problem with neoprene gloves, but in water that cold I use dry gloves which have much better dexterity and the knobs are no longer a problem.

Here is a pic of the zip tie on the knob.
