I heard that the Nikonos SB-103 was recalled completely in the 90ies because hydrogen generation could make them explode, could anyone confirm this here?
I have seen a few of these up for sale locally.

Yup, I'm not so sure that Nikon still doesn't have the swap going where you send it in for a "new" SB105.

I sent my two SB-103's in to Nikon about a year ago.
Easy process. They sent me two prepaid UPS boxes
and after they received them, they sent me two
brand new SB-105's in exchange, NO CHARGE!
